One of the most rewarding experiences I have had in my priesthood is my involvement in Youth Ministry and I consider myself extremely blessed in being the Chaplain at La Salle Academy. St. John Baptist de La Salle dedicated his life to the Christian education of the young and his vision is alive and well at La Salle Academy.
Being the chaplain at La Salle is more than an assignment; it is part of being a member of a wonderful family of educators, staff, students and alumnus. I am privileged to work closely with the outstanding campus ministry team of Christine Estes, Katherine Haidemenos and Anthony Russo as we help our students discover and live their vocation in life.
To help them realize their vocation I try to make myself available for conversation in the cafeteria during the lunch periods, and if needed, by providing more formal guidance in my office. I also try to attend sporting events, plays, concerts, debates and all the extracurricular activities that the students are involved in, not only to get to know them, but also because they are a joy to witness! We have a 大发11选5 full of very talented young people and to watch them do what they love to do is inspirational.
Celebrating the Mass is the most important part of my ministry along with being available to hear confessions. These two sacraments, along with a strong prayer life and a desire to bring the image of Jesus into the world, can work miracles and I’m privileged to be able to do this for the students, faculty and staff at La Salle.
Please join me in praying that my ministry at La Salle will help our students discover their vocation in life and that, through the power of the Holy Spirit, I will assist everyone in our LaSallian community grow closer to God.
